📚 My Foundation: A Love for Language
My journey began in Shanghai, where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in English Literature at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU). It was there that I discovered my love for translation. Exploring literary texts in both English and Chinese helped me appreciate the subtlety of language — and sparked a passion for cross-cultural communication.
After graduating, I worked as a freelance translator for several years, taking on a range of projects that deepened my appreciation for precision, tone, and context. These early experiences taught me the importance of clarity, accuracy, and cultural sensitivity in real-world translation work.
🎓 Studying Translation & Interpreting in Australia
To further my professional development, I moved to Australia to pursue a Master’s degree in Interpreting and Translation at the University of Western Sydney (UWS) — now known as Western Sydney University (WSU).
The program provided advanced training in both translation and interpreting, with a strong focus on ethics, technical accuracy, and the professional standards required in Australia. In the second semester, I took a compulsory course unit called “Accreditation”, which was designed to prepare students for the NAATI certification exams.
